We have just had our first experience of the fabulous Hospes Hotels visiting the stunning island of Mallorca to see Hospes Maricel, before a quick hop over to Alicante to experience the newly renovated Hospes Amerigo. The sun kindly shone throughout my trip and a balmy mid-20’s felt incredible for April! 

The Hospes Maricel in Mallorca blew me away with its spectacular setting and the best-of-both-worlds location. The historic main building sits right on a picturesque bay enabling you to dive directly into the crystal clear waters below and relaxing to the charms of this Mediterranean island. Yet the hotel is only 15mins from Palma old town, meaning dinners in the old town, evening walks around the beautiful cathedral and a browse through the shops are only a short hop away. 

Saying goodbye to this lovely urban resort, a short flight across the water took me to Alicante to experience the newly renovated Hotel Amerigo. This sympathetically restored former convent sits right in the heart of the bustling old town, yet only a few steps from the marina and Posteig beach. The stunning rooftop with pool and bar gives incredible views over the cathedral, the sunsets and up towards the impressive Castel Barborosa – I highly recommend a clamber up the castle walls to the top in late-afternoon for the amazing views over the whole of Alicante and the coastline – there is even a cafe at the summit to reward you!
