Delights of the Dalmatian coast…

Date

Imogen and Rowan were lucky enough to escort a group of 10 wonderful MICE and Leisure professionals to Croatia – our first return trip in nearly 3yrs!

We had such a wonderful welcome from all the Valamar team who put together a fabulous itinerary to visit not just the Valamar Hotels, but also to enable us all to get a feel for the culture and beauty of the destination.

We stayed at the fabulous 5* Dubrovnik President Valamar Collection Hotel, located on the stunning and peaceful Babin Kuk peninsular, and visited the beautifully refurbished Valamar Argosy Hotel and Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel.

Whilst in Dubrovnik, we had a fascinating tour around old city and visited a local Vineyard and Olive Farm in the countryside. Sadly the weather didn’t quite play ball on the first couple of days, hence the umbrellas, but that didn’t quash our enthusiasm for the destination!

Fortunately, by day three, the sunshine returned as we travelled up the Dalmatian coast via a quick visited to the pretty ancient walled town of Ston and an Oyster Farm, located on a stunning estuary. Here the group split, and Imogen returned with hers to Dubrovnik to fly home, whilst Rowan continued up the coast, via the brand new Peljesac Bridge (cutting down the journey time by around 2hrs!) to the stunning Makarska Riviera. Here we experienced the rivieras’ pine-clad coastline, sparkling water, and peaceful bays, whilst staying in the brand-new Dalmatia PlacesHotel by Valamar.

Our final stop was the dazzling island of Hvar where we arrived in style on a private speed boat, dropping us directly on the jetty beneath our next hotel, PlacesHotel by Valamar. It was certainly a trip highlight!

Over the next day we visited the brand new Amicor Green Hotel by Valamar (the brands first foray into a truly sustainable product), enjoyed wine tasting and an exceptional lunch at a local, organic vineyard overlooking one of the islands’ myriad of sparkling bays, walking tours around the beautiful Hvar Old Town and the ancient streets of Stari Grad.

We returned elegantly, Bond-Girl-style, to Split Airport on our own speedboat which was a wonderful way to end a fun and enlightening trip to the Dalmatian coast!
