Paradise with Italian grace

Lose yourself in the vastness of the Indian Ocean at the Baglioni Resort Maldives. This remarkable resort is surrounded by tropical natural beauty on the island of Maagau in the Dhaalu Atoll. The 5 star resort has previously won prestigious recognitions at the World Luxury Hotel Awards (Luxury Beachfront Resort – Continent Winner, Luxury Beach Resort Spa – Country Winner, Fine Dining Cuisine – Regional Winner) and the Luxury Lifestyle Awards (Best Luxury Beach Hotel).

Choose from luxury villas surrounded by tropical nature, turquoise waters and velvet-smooth white sands. Experience luxury villas with private bathrooms, a veranda with a dining area, and private pools for unforgettable moments of relaxation in complete privacy. Or elegant and exceptionally spacious 2-bedroom beach villas with direct beach access, and a private pool. All are created with a typical Italian attention to detail, using materials and design techniques for optimum sustainability while making the most of the natural setting and its all-embracing beauty.

From breakfast to after dinner, an array of food and drink is always available to delight the most exclusive palates, all in the resort’s signature Italian style. A pool bar & grill and three superb restaurants serve gourmet dishes. Sophisticated aperitivi, wine tastings and personalised private dinners complete the offering.

At Baglioni Resort Maldives they aim to minimise the impact on the environment, by always looking for the most efficient solutions to save water, energy and reducing pollution. They are committed to delivering the best of service integrating environmental practices and green initiatives in every aspect of their operations. Moreover, in 2023, they started an Environmental sustainability Performance program that led them to certify their Sustainability Pledge obtaining The Green Globe Certification.

There are plenty of opportunities for water sports including one of the best dive resorts in the Maldives. The coral reefs in the Maldives are recognised as one of the most beautiful underwater spectacles in the world. The reef completely surrounds the island with its lush vegetation and the sea in a thousand shades of blue. A team of marine biologists at Maagau Dive Centre work to grow endangered species of corals to boost existing reef habitats and generate new ones. The resident marine biologists are taking an active part in the restoration drives by funding regeneration activities or directly helping in the activity.

Hosmarkhotels ‘Going Greener’ strategy has been developed as MICE, leisure & business travel markets are beginning to concentrate their activities on suppliers that have strong green credentials. As many of our partners are in diverse destinations, it is key that the hotels are operated in a sustainable way and that the impact of tourism does not have an adverse effect  on the indigenous people and wider environment of that country.

Many of our hotel partners are committed to environmental, social and cultural conservation across their locations and are working towards recognised accreditations. As such, we have asked our hotels to provide details of their policies and activities in our survey below. More information and links to the evidence that support this survey can be found here:  This hotel's Green Survey
