The Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort is located on its own promontory on the south coast of Sri Lanka, near the old fort town of Tangalle. This newly-opened luxury hotel resort overlooks an idyllic golden sandy beach fringed by coconut palms, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The resort design is sensitive to the local culture and stylish, mixing indigenous motifs with a light contemporary style in the rooms and secluded villas.

The resort boasts a range of superb quality cuisines from fresh grilled Sri Lankan seafood and curries to traditional afternoon teas and poolside snacks. As with most Anantara Resorts, the Spa is a real retreat and sanctuary showcasing award-winning Ayurvedic treatments.

For the more energetic, there are a range of water sports in-resort as well as excursions into the Indian Ocean for deep-sea fishing or whale watching. On land, a venture into the interior can offer a chance to view protected wildlife; sample tea at a famed plantation or discover the fascinating historical cultural sites.

Hosmarkhotels ‘Going Greener’ strategy has been developed as MICE, leisure & business travel markets are beginning to concentrate their activities on suppliers that have strong green credentials. As many of our partners are in diverse destinations, it is key that the hotels are operated in a sustainable way and that the impact of tourism does not have an adverse effect  on the indigenous people and wider environment of that country.

Many of our hotel partners are committed to environmental, social and cultural conservation across their locations and are working towards recognised accreditations. As such, we have asked our hotels to provide details of their policies and activities in our survey below. More information and links to the evidence that support this survey can be found here:
This hotel's Green Survey

To date 34 Anantara hotels and resorts have been awarded Green Growth certification which is based on a range of internationally recognised environmental and hotel industry sustainability standards. To achieve this accreditation hotels are independently evaluated and need to adhere to a strict number of key indicators and criteria. Find out more here.
