hosmarkhotels take on Berlin: A frosty adventure at Hotel Palace Berlin!

Berlin in winter isn’t for the faint‑hearted — and when the hosmarkhotels team arrived to a brisk –5°C, we quickly discovered just how many layers a human can wear at once. Exploring Berlin with David: The Guide who made the cold worth it!

Our sightseeing was led by David from cpb culturepartner berlin GmbH, and he was nothing short of fantastic. A true expert, knowledgeable, engaging, and full of stories, he brought Berlin’s history to life in a way that made us forget the freezing temperatures (well… almost).

Brandenburg Gate: Standing tall against the winter sky, the Brandenburg Gate was as impressive as ever. David talked us through its role in Berlin’s past and present, giving us a real sense of its significance.

Checkpoint Charlie: Next, we headed to Checkpoint Charlie — once the most famous border crossing between East and West Berlin. With David’s storytelling, the Cold War era felt vivid and real, making it one of the standout moments of the trip.

A trip full of cold hands and warm memories

Despite the sub-zero temperatures, our visit to Hotel Palace Berlin was packed with warmth — a huge thank you to Nadine Brethauer and the whole hotel team, for David’s brilliant guiding, and the city itself. Berlin has a unique energy, even in the depths of winter, and we left feeling inspired, informed, and very ready for a hot drink!
