In early December we were excited to take part in an educational trip to Copenhagen co-hosted with BDP DMC (Best Destination Partner DMC), Arp-Hansen Hotels, and DMC Advantage, to showcase the city’s outstanding potential for conferences, meetings and incentives.
From the moment we arrived, Copenhagen felt magical. The city was glowing with festive lights everywhere, creating a hygge atmosphere even in the winter chill. The programme included a stay at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center and site visits to several of Arp-Hansen’s other centrally located hotels such as The Phoenix, and 71 Nyhavn.
We were also lucky enough to experience some of Copenhagen’s most distinctive venues and restaurants – including Moltke’s Palace, the incredible Øksnehallen where we enjoyed traditional candle making and an historical tour and beer tasting at the Home of Carlsberg, reached by horse-drawn carriage.
One of the highlights was a lantern-lit boat trip around the harbour whilst wrapped in blankets and enjoying traditional gløgg, this offered such beautiful views of Copenhagen from the water. We also had time to see the Christmas markets with an additional visit to an ice bar where everything—from the walls to the glasses—was made of ice!
The visit to Tivoli Gardens was so festive and it surpassed everyone expectations, every part of the garden was beautifully illuminated for Christmas and whilst there we were treated to a very memorable dinner at Nimb.
Another surprise highlight was a walking silent disco, dancing through Copenhagen’s streets while listening to music through headphones was unexpected, fun, and a great way to experience the city with a twist.
Traditional Danish dining, festive activities, and a hands-on cookery school completed the fabulous programme, combining amazing venues and hotels with unique cultural experiences—ideal for conferences, events, and incentives all year-round.
