None of us had visited Rotterdam before and to be honest didn’t know what to expect, however we were really impressed by this modern, clean and efficient city boasting tonnes of character and charm.
During our jam-packed day, we spent time getting to know AHOY Rotterdam, the newest addition to the Hosmark portfolio.
A vast yet somehow intimate venue which offers an incredible variety of spaces – with 35 bright, multifunctional breakout rooms, the largest auditorium in the Netherlands with 4,400 seats and 6 halls with 30,000 metres-squared of exhibition space.
All very versatile and with the added attraction of high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. (And not forgetting the fabulous arena space which can hold up to 15,000).
To ensure we are fully versed on the best options to offer your clients, we also visited a selection of hotels, all within very easy reach of AHOY – the furthest being 10 minutes by metro and the closest only 2 minutes’ walk from AHOYs front door.
Each totally individual and boasting its own character, from the quirky and historic, to the calm and elegant. There is a hotel room suited to every budget and personality in Rotterdam, and they all offer such incredible views of this picturesque city.
Highlights of the trip:
- Meeting Karin and her passionate team at AHOY. They know exactly how best to make the venue and city work for your needs Floor plan – Rotterdam Ahoy
- Foodhallen Rotterdam – a vibrant indoor street food venue offering an incredible space for a first or last night evening – great decor, food vendors to suit every taste, games, music and even a karaoke pod! The venue can be partially or fully hired excluisvely Foodhallen
- The views – city skyline, rivers, canals and bridges, Rotterdam surprised us
- Being reminded how easy it is to travel from the UK to the Netherlands, whether by flight (Amy flew into Schiphol and travelled the short direct distance by train to Rotterdam) and the whole team travelled back by Eurostar (only 3.5 hours direct from Rotterdam to St Pancras)
