A very different Christmas…

Date

Just before Christmas, Roger and I made our annual trip to sunny Cancun to take part in the Palace Resorts sales convention and find out what’s on the horizon for the group of 10 five star all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos and Jamaica.

Staying at Moon Palace Cancun, we enjoyed balmy evening temperatures at the Christmas themed welcome cocktail, complete with fairy lights and entertainment (much too hot for the required Christmas jumper) and as Brits abroad, really appreciated the beach party on the second night – more fairy lights and live music with the waves lapping onto the shore.  Since the resort sits in 123 acres of lush landscape, there are plenty of options for outdoor events and what’s more all private events are included in the all-inclusive group rates quoted!

Travelling with Mr P, food was high on the agenda and we weren’t disappointed – we sampled delicious Indian cuisine at the new Agra restaurant and were impressed with the new upgraded wine selection on offer (Roger did most of the sampling here…); Lebanese lunch at Habibi was delicious and we definitely needed a siesta after the French tasting menu at Trip Advisor’s No 1 hotel in Cancun Le Blanc Spa Resort.

The adults’ only Sun Palace in Cancun will reopen in February after a complete refurbishment and we are looking forward to visiting this 252 bedroom resort on our next trip, since it will feature very elegant design and a Thai restaurant to boot.
