Helsinki, the white capital of Finland, surrounded by the Baltic Sea, is the perfect destination for all kinds of events. The city boasts of being able to combine nature and urban life and has plenty of things to do and visit. One of the safest and cleanest cities in the world, it's also easy to navigate and most of the services are within walking distance. No wonder it's the most popular congress city in the Nordics.
The trip began with a premium checkin with Norwegian Air at Gatwick Airport and after just a 3 hour flight we arrived in Helsinki. Met by the local DMC Elamys Group, we transferred to the Finlandia Hall for a site visit. Then we checked in at Clarion Hotel Helsinki and in the evening we were taken to the Paasitorni Congress Center , another potential venue for groups, and then onto dinner at Restaurant Meripaviljonki with cocktails at Hotel Haven, one of the Kamp Collection properties that Nordic Choice Hotels have recently added to their collection.
Saturday was no less busy! A site inspection of the Cable Factory, a massive industrial space for large groups. A guided sightseeing tour in Helsinki included site visits of Lasipalatsi, Hotel St. George and Hotel Kämp. We then had some leisure time, which some of us used to go shopping, some back to the hotel to check out the pool and sauna, and some caught up on some sleep! The evening began with a boat trip to Suomenlinna Fortress for a guided tour of the island and Helsinki by the Sea. We then took a short boat transfer to another island for dinner at Restaurant Saari. Then back to the hotel for an after party at Clarion’s Sky Room.
Our last day was more leisurely… starting with a choice of an Allas Sea Pool experience, sauna or shopping, before a transfer to Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport. Lunch was hosted by another Kamp Hotel – Hotel Lilla Roberts. Needless to say it was a very quiet flight home, with everyone exhausted and well educated on what Helsinki has to offer!
